In 1999 Sr. Clara staying in St. Joseph Convent Itarsi started working with platform children. This Community is mainly for Education Ministry. As the Platform ministry expanded there was a felt need to have a separate community for the Sisters who are working with platform children. Thus in 2007 St. Joseph Sadan Community started in at Jeevodaya Campus to answer the need of rehabilitation of Platform girls at Itarsi. Sr. Pius, Sr. Deepika and Sr. Clara are the first community members.
JEEVODAY Itarsi railway station is a big junction with more than 158 trains pass by daily to the north, east, west and south of our country due to this a large number of children are found here. Sr. Claras frequent visit to Itarsi platform to pay hospitality to familiar people often struck her with children, unfamiliar, unnoticed, creating nonsense for others at the platform. She was disturbed and began to as why these children? Why they are left with no one to care, why not ... Right is not applicable. Familiarity with children began to search for these questions. There was a passion within her to become familiar with children who are at the platform. Thus in 1999 she took an initiative to work with these children.
- In 1999 I began to work with children at the Platform. Had no room, no place just at the platforms. But own the trust and confidence of children.
