In 1925, Mother Anastasia, then Provincial Superior, of Kamptee opened a summer house in Pachmarhi for our elderly Sisters who needed rest and to maintain the health of the ageing and ailing Sisters. They engaged themselves in the care of the poor, that is, medical assistance, visiting and helping the poor families. In order to maintain themselves they started a small farm. From 1965 onwards the house was utilized for the initial formation which is continued up till now. At the request of the Military authorities, the Sisters opened a Primary School, the School for Hindusthani Music conducted sessions, especially for religious men and women, at St. Josephs. The various apostolates that we are now involved in are-
- Initial Formation.
- Running of the farm, M.C.H. Programme.
- Active involvement in the Liturgical and pastoral work of the Parish.
Our effort to reach out to the poor and the needy is continued. Keeping in line with our Charism of Communion the original apostolates have undergone changes. Today we are able to respond to the challenges placed by the call of the Church and the needs of the world around us. Our house is open to those who wish to spend their time in silence and prayer, to seek guidance in their troubles, to find comfort in compassionate understanding, and to be a life giving presence.
