Medaille. In July 1981 two Sisters, Sr. Ambrose and Sr. Sunita went to live with Sisters of Notre Dame in a mission station called Piro, to experience the life of the Sisters working mainly among the poor Chamar Christians Afterseven months of living in Piro, and getting to know the people, Sr. Veronica Provincial , and her Council, decided to open our first mission Community at Maner on 22nd February 1982 with four sisters Sr. Pius Vadassery, Sr. Ambrose, Sr. Pushplata Ekka and Sr. Sunita Elackata. From a humble beginning in the C.R.S. Go down, the Sisters were able to move into their new house in the Church premises after 3 years. Thus the little seed started sprouting with the involvement of the Sisters in the Parish and in the School, serving joyfully despite great struggles and difficulties. To work among the poor especially the marginalised Chamar Christians being the main purpose of the mission, the Sisters continue to strive through faith formation, catechesis and care ofchildren in Schools and hostels to bring about a transformation among the people. Mahila Sangh, Crus Veer, Y.C.S., Parish Council, S.V.P. are the areas where the Sisters collaborate with the Priest and laity trying to bring about the love and unity, which is our charism.Much is done through Retreats, is Seminars, Camps, income generating projects and helping with job opportunities, to raise the status of the people, to preserve the sacredness of family life by rectification of marriages and family prayer, to strengthen the faith of the people and build up their conviction in Christ, otherwise they easily lapse into Hinduism at the slightest excuse. The sprouts grew stronger and have yielded fruit. A few family have left their Hindu roots completely to follow Jesus and to our Joy and consolation, some boys and girls have dedicated themselves to the services of Jesus and His people, one is in our Congregation. The little grain of mustard seed shows promises of blooming and giving hope of fruition so that the Lord's kingdom will be extended here in Maner. This is our fervent prayer and hope. All glory to be Him.
